Brussels After Dark
"I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored that the day."
- Vincent Van Gogh
We made a brief two-day stop in Brussels recently. We had not originally planned to go to Brussels on our trip, but we were heading from Amsterdam to Paris and since Brussels sits right between the two cities, why not stop and see it?
It is very interesting to observe which places pull us in, feel like home, and which ones are a nice place to visit but no more than that. I've written a lot about that so no need to go into much detail here. Brussels is one of the places that, for us, was a nice place to visit but a visit was enough. It's a place worth seeing and experiencing. We're glad we went, and the Grand Place (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) was absolutely beautiful at night.
Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890), quoted above, was a Dutch post-impressionist painter. He is now considered the greatest Dutch painter after Rembrandt, although he remained poor and virtually unknown throughout his life.
